Salesforce.com is quite popular with substance abuse recovery facilities looking to integrate patient acquisition with the overall patient record. Such interfaces allow for a 360 degree flow of data starting with inquiry all the way through to discharge, follow up care and referral tracking. Like other Fivebase clients on open EHR platforms, the Gateway Foundation (https://www.gatewayfoundation.org/) wanted to close the loop between the Saleforce.com and their EHR (myAvatar) in an automated, realtime, exchange of data.

To that end, Fivebase developed an interface that allows for the transfer of client disposition and demographic data that occurs as a background process as information is entered into the EHR. Fivebase's current Saleforce.com interface deployments support a small subset of EHR products, however, any open API EHR system can be accommodated.
